The Origin of the NumbCruncher.com site

Back when Adler and I started expanding to more challenging leagues, we needed more info. The magazines didn't quench our thirst for knowledge, since most of them are geared to the fair weather hobbiests. We figured we could provide as good as content like they do, but wanted to provide something for the more serious content who eat, sleep, and breathe this stuff. It might have been 2 guys speaking of an American Dream with no intentions, but when I got this website and built the Ultimate League, I figured why not take it a step further. Especially after the QBD was designed and created. I was frustrated with some of the other systems out there that made little sense to how they calculated values. Baseline each position by the last starter's predicted season totals (for the season) and multiply TEs, K, and ST by half because they aren't as valuable. Well that seems dumb. It just seems like a quick and easy fix to their formulas. And don't get me started on the Flex calculations. Starting a WR or TE as a flex calculation meant you entered starting half a WR and 1/2 a TE. Most likely, it would only make sense to start 2 TEs and 10 WRs in a 12 team league where this occured, but I said I wouldn't get started. I tinkered with stats and numbers, crunching them and then polishing and the QBD (Quality Based Dominator) was born. The QBD is taking values for each week's optimal starting lineup and detailing the trends that occur for that specific league. There is no last minute devaluing of players stats for public satisfaction. Now that I had a drafting system and we had initiative, NumbCruncher.com is born.
